Nicholas Ciani is a civil litigation associate at Schirmer Law where he primarily handles first-party property insurance matters, including bad faith litigation. Mr. Ciani represents policyholders exclusively and advocates on their behalf against their insurance company. He is personally involved in all stages of the case, including pre-suit investigations, Examinations Under Oath, paper discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial.
Nicholas is a South Florida native who graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law. While in law school he clerked for the Honorable James I. Cohn, a United States District Court Judge in the Southern District of Florida. Nicholas received his undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance. He was recently recognized in Fort Lauderdale Illustrated’s 2020 list of Top Lawyers, a designation based solely on his exceptional standing within the South Florida legal community.
Prior to joining Schirmer Law, Nicholas gained extensive experience working as in-house counsel for a property and casualty insurance company that provides coverage across more than a dozen states. Mr. Ciani has cases spanning the entirety of Florida, from Tallahassee to Miami. He is admitted to and practices in Federal Court, including the Southern and Northern Districts of Florida.
